Expats beware of unfair fines when residents parking bays are suspended

These photos were taken in Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea on the morning of 15 May 2014 – specifically in Queen’s Gate Terrace when the unfair fines when residents parking bays are suspended.

Between 8:30am & 9:30am we observed legally parked cars being removed by Enforcement Officers from the central reservation. YET THERE WERE NO SIGNS AFFECTING THE CENTRAL RESERVATION!

The cars were being removed in haste to make way for the big crane that is depicted in the photos.Queen's Gate Terrace

The photos show the wording on the signs that were on the south side of Queen’s Gate Terrace. They say NOTHING about the central reservation. Yet these poor residents’ cars were taken away to the pound in Lots Road, Fulham where large fines will be demanded before the cars are released to the owners.

Another of the photos clearly shows that THERE IS NO SIGN ON THE POST THAT RELATES TO THE CENTRAL RESERVATION BAYS.

We have seen many examples of this grossly unfair practice by this Local Authority’s Enforcement Officers.

If you have a Residents’ Parking Permit you need to check your parked car every day to ensure that the bay has not been suspended. But when there are no signs affecting the actual bay where your car is parked what are you supposed to do?

If you are an owner of any of the affected cars, please email us at: info@saunders1865.com and we will gladly provide the Parking Suspension no loading signevidence you need to fight any unfair fine. This practice is unfair to everyone. We certainly want to support anyone in our expat community who falls victim of such enforcement abuse.

Residents all over London need to be vigilant; be aware of this abuse and take photos when you see this sort of thing going on!

We will gladly publish any response we receive from the Local Authority. Hopefully they will promptly put this right!
