Snapchat messaging appAnd the Positive Post-Brexit News for the UK Keeps Coming!

By choosing London for its new European HQ, the corporation behind the Snapchat messaging app has now joined the list of companies wanting to benefit from the UK’s lower tax regime.

Yes, Snap, has decided to base its international headquarters in London. The California-based tech company reportedly has 150 million daily active users around the world.

This news is a further boost for London’s global reputation and a another vote of confidence in the UK as the preferred location for the most successful global businesses.

Snap already has 75 staff in the UK and its office is located in London’s Soho. The company will open a European site near its Soho office and will be adding more employees. No doubt much of the new talent will come from overseas, and some existing people will be relocated from other parts of the world – perhaps from California. This is the pattern followed by other tech companies.

But How Do Such Companies Support Their Globally Mobile Workforce?

When corporations move people into the UK from abroad they are wise to provide relocation support to show that they are highly valued by the business. Such support frequently takes the form of assistance with finding the right rental home, school places for their children, immigration support, as well as providing on demand settling-in services which cover all essentials.

On demand settling in support often includes such matters as opening bank accounts, driving in the UK, setting up healthcare, broadband services, mobile phones, etc.

Tech companies are not usually the most generous when it comes to providing relocation support because they have a big focus on keeping costs to a minimum. There’s nothing wrong with that, but cost control needs to be carefully balanced against the importance of attracting, retaining and motivating key talent.

The good news is, nowadays there are innovative ways of providing VIP relocation support that provide huge value at low cost.
