Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarms

ANOTHER TIP FOR UK RENTERS – “PRESS TO TEST, MONTHLY IS BEST”

This one is for your safety and to keep you compliant with the terms of the Tenancy Agreement.

Any smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms at your property need to be kept in good working order.

Follow these steps:

  • Test the alarms regularly to make sure they’re working. If they’re not working, make an emergency report to the landlord/agent immediately.

We’re supporting the Fire Kills campaign – “press to test, monthly is best” #FireKills #PressToTest

Remember this quote from Fire Kills: “You test me, you check, I’m alive. I see smoke, I keep you alive. Do we have a deal?”

  • Make sure you replace batteries regularly
  • Make sure you never block any air vents
  • Keep the alarms free from dust and any other obstructions

If you suspect that anything is a fire risk you must let your landlord know immediately.
