This weekend we recommend that expats visit the Tower of London to see the artistic installation of the “Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red”. The fantastic display of red, ceramic poppies commemorates the fallen British military service men of World War One. Each service man is represented by one beautiful ceramic poppy that has been artfully displayed in the moat around the Tower where they originally assembled to volunteer to go to war. Many never returned. The visual display allows the public a moment of personal reflection as they take in the emotional sight.
The 11th of November marks the 100th year anniversary of the British involvement in The Great War. You can even purchase one of the displayed poppies and it will be mailed to you after the conclusion of the Remembrance Day installation.
