Penguin Random House Start Search for New London Office

But, when making an office move, never forget the human side

Penguin Random House have started their search for new London offices of up to 100,000 square feet to house around 500 employees.

Bertelsmann and Pearson combined the worldwide activities of Random House and Penguin Group in July 2013. This resulted in creating the biggest book publisher in the world. The world headquarters of Penguin Random House in based in New York and the publisher employs a reported 10,000 people worldwide.

In the UK, the company currently operates from three offices around London, situated in Ealing, The Strand and Vauxhall Bridge Road.

London’s South Bank was reported to be a suggested location for the consolidated operation, where rents for office space are lower than in the West End.

When relocating offices, it’s important not to neglect the human factor

How exactly will the move affect the lives of key members of the team? How do they feel about the move? How can the transition be managed so that it’s made as easy as it can be for all the families involved?

The key is to make everyone in your team feel well supported throughout the transition. So many employers do this part badly, when the resulting damage can be so easily avoided.
