May 1 is known in the UK as “May Day” and was originally a celebration of springtime, life and fertility. Traditional British May Day celebrations include Morris dancing, maypoles, and the crowning of a May Queen. If you haven’t experienced this yet, it is well worth doing so! May Day in the UK is also associated with the early May bank holiday, coming up this weekend. Saunders 1865’s European HQ will be closed for the May Bank Holiday Weekend from 6pm on Friday, 1 May. We’ll be back on Tuesday, 5 May at 10am.
Celebrations for May Day here in the UK are typically celebrated the best way the British know how: with a pint, and preferably in the sun. So make sure you join in the celebrations this weekend!
