Facebook are in discussions to lease a new London office. The company plans to take at least 400,000 square feet of space at the King’s Cross Central development, not far from where Google parent, Alphabet, will develop its new UK headquarters.
Facebook's head of real estate has said: "(The move) highlights our commitment to invest and grow our talented teams of people based in London, from engineering and analytics to partnerships and design, who help us connect over a billion people on Facebook across the world."
The company has already signed a lease for a new office in Oxford Street but seems eager to further expand.
Facebook isn't the first tech giant to commit to expanding their UK base following the Brexit referendum vote. Many of the world’s largest technology companies, such as Apple and Amazon, have leased major new offices in London, a city which attracts the best, highly skilled young talent from all over the world because it’s regarded as being a wonderful city to live in.
Apple reportedly plans to move staff into a new London headquarters at the Battersea Power Station project and Amazon has recently begun moving staff into a new UK base in the Shoreditch district on the edge of the City of London.
