Chihuly: Get Your Mind (Glass-)Blown Before It’s Gone!

If you’ve ever been to the V&A (and if you haven’t then go now), you’ve probably been struck by the swirling, bright, glass chandelier which hangs in its main reception. This spectacular creation is the work of Dale Chihuly, an American artist whose work marries glass blowing with sculpture to create fantastic masterpieces. For 2014, Chihuly returns to the UK to showcase his work. Along with the Amber and Gold Chandelier unveiled as Harrods this February (the piece which now adorns Harrod’s Grand Hall is the first piece of artwork ever commissioned by the superstore), until April 5 there is a Chihuly exhibit: Beyond the Object at the Halcyon Gallery. The exhibit features several of Chihuly’s chandeliers and for the first time in the UK, some of his neon works. There isn’t much time left so if you have an afternoon to spare be sure to take a look at this amazing exhibit before its gone!
