It’s every woman’s dream to be a Bond girl and, probably, every man’s dream to live with one. Unfortunately for most of us neither of these fantasies is going to come true. But you could always let your imagination run wild by moving into a property that used to belong to a Bond girl. Yes, that’s right – a house that used to belong to iconic 1970s Bond girl Britt Ekland is now available to rent – perfect for a lifestyle of martinis, shaken not stirred.
The small Georgian-style terraced house is in a quiet, gated cul-de-sac in Chelsea and it was called home by Britt for more than a decade. In 2004 she sold the two-bedroom house to television presenter and fashion stylist Hannah Sandling. Hannah is still the owner and is renting out property, fully furnished, for £1,050 a week. Inside there is a fabulous open plan living space on the ground floor, while downstairs from this there’s a pretty kitchen and elegant dining area which opens out onto a charming patio garden at the rear of the property. There are two large double bedrooms and the decor throughout is light and airy, with a slightly Mediterranean feel (apart from the polar bearskin rug in one of the bedrooms!)
Britt was a true Hollywood star of the 1970s. As well as appearing in The Man with the Golden Gun, she is also famous for her roles in Get Carter and The Wicker Man. She was married to Peter Sellers from 1964 until 1968 and she was also romantically linked with Rod Stewart in the late 1970s.
Perhaps by renting her former Chelsea home, a little bit of that Bond and Hollywood glamour will rub off on the new residents’ lives!
