Moving to Surrey – Esher and Claygate
Are you moving to Surrey – Esher and Claygate? As long as there have been commuters, Surrey has been a popular place to live. The combination of its proximity to London, its convenience for the capital’s main airports and, originally, its pretty countryside has always attracted City workers. Over the years the so-called ‘stockbroker belt’ has become increasingly built up but it still represents a hugely appealing option for those who don’t want to live in Town.
Esher and Claygate are both located in the town of Elmbridge in Surrey. Esher is a very prosperous area, largely suburban in character and lies on the A307, Portsmouth Road. The famous Sandown Park Racecourse lies in the town near the station. Claygate, a suburban village is the only civil parish in the borough of Elmbridge. Claygate is primarily residential and has a small number of offices, outlying farms and two modest shopping areas: the Old Village, and the Parade.
